Need recommendation for Psychic in NOLA
I will be traveling to NOLA next week and thought since I was in Voodoo town I would see a good psychic. Looking for the real-deal w/o the crystal ball if ya know what I mean. Any locals out there that can give me a recommendation? Thanks!!

I grew up in the Quarter & still live in the area. Most of the "psychics" I've seen lately are spinning a good story for visitors. But I will tell you about a place I went once upon a time & it scared me because it was so accurate.
It is The Bottom of the Cup Tearoom on Royal Street & is still there. The tarot reading that I got still amazes me after over 25 years. My sis-in-law went there about 6 years after I did & was amazed at how accurate her reading was. None of the hokey old "you'll meet a dark stranger" type stuff.
Two years ago my daughter wanted a reading for her 16th birthday & I took her & 2 friends there. They decided instead to have a reading with someone right outside Jackson Square (in front of St Louis Cathedral). The reading was so typical of a carnival gypsy type thing that they laughed like crazy. It was the old story about a long journey & more "readings" of their personalities that was totally off base. It was not cheap either.
Spend the same money & go to Bottom of the Cup. You'll enjoy the experience!

benj,
I am curious. You said you were amazed as was your sis in law on the accuracy of your tarot reading was over the years from Bottom of the Cup. I want to know...but I don't want to know. Was it a positive experience? Insightful? Spooky?

I think it cost about $35 when I checked 2 years ago. My experience was spooky because I was in the midst of trying to figure out a broken engagement. I wore no rings there(there were no tan lines) & the 1st thing she asked was "where's your ring?"! She gave me the 1st letter that his name started with (R) & said that he was not serious about the breakup. Shortly after that he did return but there was no happy ending. Wish she could have seen that. Anyway, when she told me all that I swear the hair on the back of my neck stood up.
The sis-in-law's reading was more pleasant & less intense but still true. She said they would be taking a trip soon to the beach with black sand. Sure enough, they had a trip to Hawaii soon after. I forget the rest of her reading but she still mentions that.
