Continental is always fun, but only if you going with a few people. It's tapas-style, so it'll be difficult to dine there if solo.

I would say most good dining close to you will be on Market and Chestnut Streets between Front and 4th street.

New Italian: Pizzacato

I thought Mandoline was not worth the price. I like the food at Fork and the energy there.

We ate at Cuba Libre and it was excellent. We also enjoyed Buddakhan, Red Sky, and Alma de Cuba.

Thanks for your thoughts on Mandoline. I guess we can rank it a bit lower on our list of places to try! (Osteria is at the top these days.)

Pizzicato is related to the one in the Promenade on Route 73 in Jersey? Their luncheon salads have been very, very good; haven't been there yet for dinner.

Go to the bar at M, 231 S 8th St, and have a drink in a beautiful space. The food is supposed to be very good too but it is fine dining, not a casual place.

I liked Mandoline and think it is worth visiting.

Dmitri's, above, has seafood and grilled veggies. Small and crowded.

For Italian, a short ride will take you to the Italian Market area and Ralph's at 760 S Ninth St. Also, Villa di Roma at 932 S Ninth. I think these are both cash only.
