Need input on Yosemite lodging

I have Tuesday-thursday booked at Curry village. We fly into Oakland around 11.30 on Monday. Instead of staying in Oakland that night should we go ahead and drive to Yosemite. Perhaps treating ourself to a nice B&B along the way. What is the best town to stop in and what is the best entrance to Yosemite coming from Oakland

Assuming that you are coming in at 11:30 AM, I would recommend driving to Yosemite. There really aren't any nice places to stop along the way once you leave the Oakland Metro area. As long as you leave before 3 PM, you should not get caught up in the commute traffic. Coming from Oakland, I would think that the entrance from 140 is the best.

I thought coming from Oakland that Hwy 120 would be the best route. I would plan on going in one route and coming back the other. Both are scenic.

If you are taking I-580 thought the Livermore Valley the traffic can start as early as 3:00 so if you are going to go that afternoon, then leave as soon as possible!

I don't of B&B's but you might try looking in Groveland or Big Oak Flats.

Utahtea,

The route I was thinking of is 580 to 120 to 41/140. I am not aware if there is another one that would be better because I do not go to Yosemite all that often, but this is the one that I remember taking.
