Need a short term apartment in BOSTON

Hello, I'm an student and I'll go work in Boston for 3 months aprox. 12/13/2015 to 03/10/2016
I need a cheap place to stay. My budget is 100 to 125 per week.
Any suggestion?

That really isn't an apartment price in Boston - more like sharing a room/studio with several others. I would check out student housing offices at some of the universities to see who is offering a share that might fit your needs.

For $500 per month, you are talking about sharing a room in an apartment in possibly a not great part of the city, based on a rental of at least $2000 a month for a two bedroom apartment. You are also arriving during the academic year when rentals are very tight. The first month until mid-January is during the winter holiday so you may find a sublet for that period. It is the next ten weeks that is a problem.

Nytraveler's advice is excellent, and i would check the teaching hospitals for sublets as well. I would start looking at Craigslist in the fall to get an idea of availability and prices but I would not give anyone any money for anything until I had seen it.

Where do students live? Allston-Brighton, Somerville, East Cambridge, the older parts of the Fenway, near Northeastern.

It would be helpful to know where (in general terms) you will be working because transportation is an issue as is safety in some areas. Can your employer offer any help? Are you replacing another intern whose space you might take up?

Dumb me. Of course, look at airbnb, just be careful as with craigslist.

Sorry. I need my second cup of coffee!

Craigslist for a sublet - so many colleges and so many students doing a study abroad semester you should be able to find something. However, not sure your budget will cover it and you may have to take it for the full semester - which would mean until May or June.

Don't know if it's a troll or just someone very naive about real estate prices outside of small towns.

Boston has a lot of medical students that come from other countries. If he or she is working in Boston the employer or school should offer assistance.
