Need a Nice Rubdown in Honolulu
Hi all, I'm hoping here_today, MelissaHI, and the like are on today 'cuz I've been a slacker and could use some help. One of my best friends recently defended her Ph.D. and moved to Honolulu right after (Navy) - they live on Ford Island, and I'd love to get her a congratulatory gift certificate for a massage or something. Does anybody have any spa recs? The last threads I pulled on this topic were all dated 2001. Thanks for helping me out!

The Aveda spa in Manoa has wonderful massages. Or since your friend lives in Central Oahu, the JW Marriot Ihilani resort has a fabulous spa as well.
My daughter was just at Aveda 2 weeks ago and my neighbor- a real spa aficionado was at Ihilani last month, so they both are still doing great massages!

I like to go to Heaven on Earth in downtown Honolulu (1010 Alakea Street). But like lcuy says, if you are in central Oahu maybe it's better to go to the Ihilani (which I have been dying to try).
I did try the Aveda spa at Ala Moana Center, but they have since come under new management so I'm not sure if they are still fabulous--I've heard great things about the one in Manoa, though.
If your friend likes facials, I like to go to Salon 808 to see Carol Otake. She knows the gossip on everyone in town!!
