Nashville in February?
We really would like to visit Nashville for 3 days. This is a long time wish of mine. Unfortunately, since we are coming from a far country, we can only make it in the beginning of February, Monday - Thursday.
Is it wothwhile to make the effort and visit Nashville in February?
Will there be what to see and do during the week (as opposed to weekend)?
Any advise will be much appreciated!

You will find music available in several venues during the week or weekend. One benefit to the weekend is that the Grand Ole Opry show is on Saturday night. Touring Music Row, visiting the Opryland Hotel, and catching whatever shows are in town can be done in February as well as any month. One possible day trip is to Mammoth Cave. A couple hour drive north, but a great site to see. Blue Bird Cafe is a small club with live music every night. You can buy advance tickets on their web site, where you will find their show schedule.

The Opry does have a Tuesday night show, as far as I know. It's not as popular as the weekend shows, but you'd still get to see it. In the winter, the shows are at the Ryman downtown (as opposed to the Opry house out by Opryland). They don't have the calendar up through February yet, so definitely check back in a few weeks for that.
As far as other music, there's some around through the entire week - just more abundant on the weekend. As stumpworks said, the Bluebird is open every night. Other attractions (Country Music Hall of Fame, Frist, Opryland, etc.), you should have no problem going during the week.

If you're a country music fan, the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum is really interesting, and you could spend half a day there. The website
www.countrymusichallof fame.com says it is closed on Tuesdays in January and February, so be sure to take that into account, or check to be sure.

I sure hope eri is a country music fan. Otherwise it'd be crazy to travel from "a far country" just to visit Nashville.
I like Nashville too, but would not travel a long distance to get there unless I was really into the music scene.

You need to be careful about Feb travel if you have meetings at either end of this trip. Feb can be a bear anywhere - and a major storm in one area (and we've already had massive ice storms) can throw plane schedules off for a couple of days.
Just make sure you don;t cut things too close. And try to route your trip as far south as possible.

Agreed with nytraveler - February weather in Tennessee is unpredictable, but probably just cold and rainy, although we occasionally get ice or even snow!
But obviously if you're flying from or to somewhere else, your plans will be affected by the weather there as well. (And if it is bad weather here, expect us all to be going crazy and buying out all the bread and milk we can find.)
And you're not crazy. Nashville is great and I hope you love it as much as you think you will!

Eri, I think you will have a great time. February is as good a time as any to visit Nashville. Just be careful of the weather.
IF there is an Opry show on Tues night, then you won't be missing anything while visiting during the week.
Have a great time.
