After Corkscrew, you might want to head to lunch in Marco at the Snook Inn, a casual restaurant on the Intracoastal waterway, and a good spot to see more birds in the rookeries.

I was in Marco over New Year's for a wedding. We ate lunch twice at the Snook Inn - it was a great spot right on the water and the food was delicious.

We stayed at the Olde Marco Island Inn, which was very nice. We had a two bedroom, two bath condo with a full kithcen and screened-in balcony.Hotel is not right on the water, but since we were only there for a couple of nights and attending a wedding, it wasn't a big deal for us.
