Napa Report
Just back from a short trip to Napa and wanted to rave! We were very happy with our Bed & Breakfast - the Glass Mountain Inn - we stayed in the downstairs room in the main house - it was great but the upstairs rooms are good if you have kids with you.
We loved Sterling - the views alone make it worth your time but they have a self guided tour and good wine too! Other than that, the smaller wineries were better than the bigger well known names.
For dinner - our favorite was TraVigne - what an amazing meal!

Hi GottaTravel~
Sounds like you had a great time!
I have some questions...
How much did your accomdations cost?
Did you do a tour of different wineries?
Do you think it's possible to visit the wine country on a budget? I have heard that it is pretty expensive. We would be going in July or August.
Thanks!
Keri

We have gone to Copia....From this Italian's perspective, I thought it was somewhat sterile. I do like the gift shop selection of books though. The exhibits are mostly mildly interesting. not something I would do unless we were nearby. The Friday Night Flicks are a nice event. Last month it was films about food. This month Italian foods. I think the film nights are more interesting than the exhibits! If you are pressed for time I would skip it.

We got a good deal of about $155/night - well worth it. It is possible to do a little better though and Sonoma is less expensive. With some research, you could definitely do this on a budget.
We visited quite a few others - Turnbull, Mondavi, Heitz, Duckhorn, Whitehall Lane, St.Supery to name a few.
We did not go to Copia - from our research about, we decided we weren't really interested for this trip.
We did not do the wine train. My husband did it a few years ago. Now that he's done both, he liked the vineyard hopping better although the train was good (and its food was OK). I'm sure if you have the time it would be worth doing.
