Napa Getaway

We are flying (without kids!) to CA from the east coast and plan to spend 4 nights. Included in our trip is a gift certificate to the Kenwood Inn & Spa in Napa Valley for 2 nights (plus dinner at the French Laundry). What is our best itinerary for the other 2 - San Francisco? Coastal Sonoma? We like nature, eating out, etc. - but don't want to spend the entire time driving for this short trip. If SF, please recommend accommodations, dinner etc.Thanks.

Hi mvbos, ah, without kids, that can be great, LOL. Personally I would go to Sonoma Valley after Napa Valley and save SF another time from what you are saying. Do you have reservations for the French Laundry...I hope so! Best wishes and have a wonderful time.

I believe Kenwood Inn & Spa is in Sonoma Valley and not Napa Valley, so it would be perfect to split your time between the two valleys.

Kenwood, in Sonoma Valley, is a good 40 minute drive over the mountain to the Napa Valley if you have reservations at French Laundry. If not, try Kenwood restaurant or go down to Glen Ellen and try the Fig Cafe or the Glen Ellen Inn restaurant which are both very good.

We enjoyed a cool little place called Dolce Lunas in Kenwood for lunch. Great wok-seared calamari salad and very warm and friendly service. Have fun! ***kim***
