Name of mountain in GNP?

Hi ---can anyone help me with the name of the beautiful pyramid-shaped peak directly across Swiftcurrent Lake from the Many Glacier hotel?

I need to label my photos. I can't find it on my park map, can't find it in the guidebook, and can't locate my topo map (it is somewhere buried in my hiking gear, but tough to dig out right now).

Thanks for your help!

Isn't Mt. Grinnell the one to which Grinnell Glacier is attached? That would be much further away.

This peak is straight across the lake, in your face when you gaze out at the lake from a balcony or window in Many Glacier hotel. It dominates the view, and is spectacular in my photos.

The boat up the lake (to connect to the second boat and trail to Grinnell glacier) passes to the left side of it (as you face the mountain).

It has a Native American name, I believe---I think I would recognize it; but I can't bring it to mind unassisted.

Use maps.google.com, zoom in on Many Glacier hotel, and click on terrain view and you can see all the peaks.

Here's a picture of Mt Grinnell (not mine)

It well could be Mt Wilbur, but that's certainly not an native name.

You're correct--it's Grinnell! I googled using that name, and found these photos:

(we had a siimilar view from our balcony)

(and I have a similar sunrise shot---incredible!)

Thanks so much. I don't know why I thought it had a different name. . .

J62---I figured out the source of my confusion. On our way to Many Glacier we stopped at Two Medicine and did a half-day hike there. I was confusing the name of Sinopah Mountain at Two Medicine with the peak I saw from our Many Glacier balcony.

Mystery solved. Thanks for your help.
