Name differences on passport and tickets

Please help me, I am really in distress. My name before I got married have a long surname. On my passport it displays under surname. And below that under other names I have my first name, middle name and husband's surname. I used that when making my ID cards in US. Therefore, when I book air tickets I used my first name, middle name and husband's surname since that is the name given on my Greencard and other ID cards issued in America. Please someone tell me whether I would be in trouble or will it be okay.
Thank you very much!

Your tickets must match your passport. I suggest you contact your airline ASAP.

Agree that the airline will not let you on the plane if the name on the ticket doesn't match your passport.

Although it is legal to use whatever name you want - for instance, keeping maiden name for work purposes if that is how you have been known - all of your official documents should have the exact same name to avoid these problems.

Are you travelling within the U.S.? If so, you don't have to travel with a passport. You can travel with your government issued picture I.D., such as a driver's license or your Green Card.

It sounds like the name on your airline tickets matches that on your Green Card, so that is fine for domestic travel.

This is absolutely correct. But your mentioning your passport led me to beleiee you will be going abroad.

Which is it?

(And if this is US - I suggest you move quickly to regularize your passport - or buy all future airline tickets to match it.)

Those were more peaceful days.In 1996 I travelled all over Europe with name on my Passprt different than the one on my tickets...there were questions at each passport control but I was able to convince them I was genuine,
