I'm jumping in late and haven't read all the replies, but if you visit the Grand Canyon, you can stay in the park. Do a google search for xanterra and you can check availability on that site.
We stayed in the park in July and its great. El Tovar is the best place to stay, but it was fully booked even when we tried to reserve in January. We stayed at Maswik, which is comfortable and great location -- you can walk to the rim. Flagstaff is too far for such a short trip.
You'd have to drive to Phoenix or Vegas to get your flight to Oklahoma.
But Grand Canyon is definitely worth seeing. You could even fly from DFW to Phoenix on Southwest and pick up car and explore AZ for a few days.

Actually, you can't fly from DFW to Phoenix on Southwest as (because of the Wright Amendment which is very controversial,I might add) they only fly out of Love Field (in downtown Dallas). You'd need to fly on American or something similar to get from DFW to Phoenix. Happy travels everyone!

Guarro:
I completely understand what you want to do and I am like you....let's see as much as we can even if we have a short time...Here's what I'm doing in november so I have some details:
If you would like to see the grand canyon...Day 1: fly from Dallas to LasVegas (one way is cheap!), then spend afternoon on the Vegas Strip, catch a show, Spend night 1 there.
Day 2 Catch a helicoper flight at the Vegas Airport (this will be an 8 hour gig) and fly over the hoover dam, lake mead, little volcanoes to the Grand Canyon...once there you spend the night at El ToVar Day 3, catch the sunrise, go to the bottom of the GCanyon via helicopter, return flight(or tour bus - 4 hrs.) to Vegas...or get a small plan charter from the GC Airport to fly you to a major city and pick up a flight to Oklahoma. I know it sounds kinda pricy...but you'd be surprised at the bargin of: one way trip from Dallas to Vegas; inexpensive hotels you can get in Vegas; the most expensive is the flight from Vegas to GCanyon...which you can get for as little as $250-300...worth every penny. El TOvar is very reasonably priced and still has availability...and I checked out the private flights from Canyon Airport to Phoenix and they are reasonable too....maybe this is too too too much...but I love to drive as well and if you need to drive out of Dallas (rather than fly) I would suggest the trip to Albeq, then Santa Fe but don't you dare miss Taos. Dallas to Taos is 12 hours straight and it is awe-inspiring...esp. if you drive through eagle nest new mexico....darling town, eaglenest...charming. Good luck, it's fun to throw my 2 cents in!
