Mystic Connecticut hotels

We're planning an overnight trip to Mystic at the end of August. Does anyone have suggestions of where to stay that's close to the Seaport and Aquarium - and is kid friendly?

My wife and I enjoyed staying at the Whaler's Inn.

I don't have an answer to your inquiry but I don't think Whalers Inn is what one would call kid friendly. We have stayed there very recently and it was very good, but children were not part of the scene.

There is a big perfectly okay Comfort Inn (we have stayed there)that is fine for kids. There are other chain motels near the highway, but this one is set back far enough that there is no highway noise.

Depending on when "late in August" is, I wouldn't wait to long to reserve.
