Myrtle Beach Oyster Roast /Raw Seafood Bar?
Any recommendations for a place in the Myrtle Beach area that serves really good oysters on the half shell or features an oyster roast? We have tried Bimini's and were disappointed - found their oyster roast was served with very muddy shells and were also extremely difficult to open.

smc, what you got were local oysters and of course they are going to be muddy and some difficulty of opening them. Our oysters grow in clusters not singles. If you want single oysters, you want farm raised and not local.
Since you didn't like the oyster roast from biminis, I suggest you not get an oyster roast. I'm not being flip but that is how they are served. Pretty much anywhere you go they will be just like that.
If you do want to try again, I agree with Billy The Kids in Little River and Nances in Murrells Inlet. They are in season so no one will serve anything but local.

I don't mean Bimini's oysters were a little muddy - they were caked! If they had been rinsed even a little before roasting it would have helped. I'm an NC native and enjoyed Billy the Kid's oyster roast many times in the past (Cherry Grove, right?) but it was 25+ years ago. Didn't know they still served it or if it was still good. We'll give them a try.

Billy the Kids are still good from what I understand.
We always get ours by the bushell and take them to the car wash. Fortunately, most of the car washes around here have these very large spin baskets specifically for oysters.
Even power washing them it's hard to get them clean.
