I have been away from here for a while but came back to find advice on Broadway tickets and came across this old thread (just bought tickets to see Hamilton, in May!). Just to update this thread, I just came home from NY and left my son there. I feel like I've forgotten something very important but it is a deliberate delusion as if I could have it back if I remembered it. He has moved to NY and is starting college there. How wild all these years later....I wouldn't have predicted when I did this trip with him that this is where he would end up. I am so excited for him.

This trip, I stayed at 3 different hotels: the Eventi (which I LOVED) near the Empire state bldg, the Muse (also a Kimpton hotel) which I wasn't as fond of, and ROW NYC which was fine for me for the price. We did the High Line, Chelsea market, the meatpacking district, South street Seaport, and 2 shows (The King and I, which was fantastic, and Chicago which I had seen before). We ate at Rubirossa near Little Italy, Shake Shack which had the best burgers and fries I've had in a long time (I had the roadside snack/shack burger, sublime), a nondescript Burmese restaurant which I don't recommend, and the North End Grill which we enjoyed very much. We also had ramen at Mok Bar and City Kitchen in our hotel. I'm looking forward to many opportunities to return to NY now!

How exciting! Amazing the differences in just a few years and now you'll be returning for regular visits! Congrats to your son and you'll love exploring NYC more. Thanks for the update.
