More of my routine:
Do not disturb sign goes on the door as soon as I get in.

I put all of my clothes out for the next day so I don't have to rummage around in the morning. Of course, they are close to the bathroom since towels are limited.

I find those bathroom floors gross...one reason is that while I see a lot of maid carts in the halls I rarely see one equipped with a mop or mop bucket...yuck.

Okay, Joey got stage fright:

ROSS: Wait a minute! I saw that! On The Discovery Channel, yeah! About jellyfish and how if you... Ewwww!!! You peed on yourself?!

PHOEBE and RACHEL: Ewwww!!!

MONICA: You can't say that! You-you don't know! I mean I thought I was gonna pass out from the pain! Anyway I-I tried, but I-I couldn't...bend that way. So...

PHOEBE, ROSS, and RACHEL: Ewwww!!!

JOEY: That's right I stepped up! She's my friend and she needed help! And if I had too, I'd pee on anyone of you! Only, uhh, I couldn't. I got the stage fright. I wanted to help, but there was too much pressure. So-so I uh, I turned to Chandler.

CHANDLER: Joey kept screaming at me, Do it now! Do it!! Do it! Do it now!! Sometimes late at night I can still here the screaming.

JOEY: That's 'cause sometimes I just do it through my wall to freak you out.

You might be right GoTravel. I think they were both there with Monica, but I can't remember who did 'the deed'. I just remember Monica freaking out about it.

Chandler tried to pee on Monica, but he couldn't, so Joey stepped up. I'm sure of it, because I remember the three of them telling the story to the others, and Joey saying, "and I'd Pee on any one of you too!!!"

2 sarongs are the first thing that go into my suitcase. learned this trick years ago from savvy "3rd world" travelers. they can be used as a window curtain, bath towel, furniture covering, bed sheet, picnic blanket, dresser scarf, skirt or shift around the hotel room, pool cover-up, etc.

joan- the lampshade's a new one for me(!) but i'll add it to my repertoire.

THANK YOU--Thank you to all who have contributed to this thread...
I got up this morning sort of "down in the dumps" due to fact i've had to limit my travel for a while.
Read this thread and am now laughing--especially after the comment that ocean creatures also "poop" in the water...AND the recurering question "how did you get all those towels?'
Keep it up

Speaking of pee...
Sorry to spoil the in room morning coffee routine for you guys. but the one "germ-a-phobish" thing I subcribe to is NEVER brew coffee in my room's coffee maker.

Once heard a new year's eve story of someone brewing some coffe with their urine! Maybe you don't have to worry at 4-5 stars but who knows... ;-)

While traveling, I can wait till I get dressed and to the lobby for some caffine.

I have been enjoying this one too. It's a long time since we had this kind of "fun" here.

Screw it, I'm just going to roll around on the nasty bedspread and the germ ridden floor.

You know the pool deck hasn't been cleaned.
Were the bar glasses sent to the dishwasher last time or just rinsed at the pool bar?
How long has that bar food been in the sun?
Maybe the kid peed in the pool but did he start or finish on the deck?

khoffman, I don't know about NOT worrying in 4-5 star hotels about the coffee maker and what a story - I've never even thought of that). The people who stay in 4-5 stars are more likely able to afford to have alcohol delivered by room service. Think investment bankers and strippers (not to imply that the strippers are ordering or consuming the alcohol - I'm sure they work very hard and have no interest in getting intoxicated while on the job).

HI..
After seeing that 20/20 show about how dirty is your Hotel..was so unbelievable as to what is all over your room..bodily secretions everywhere from the ceiling, walls, chairs, remote..when they had that luminesence stuff in some of the finest Hotels to the average Motel..You can see why..we all have our little quirks about certain things..
They said that the bedspread had so much bacteria from E-Coli and other things that it is making me quiver like a chihuahua right now..

Thanks for al the laughs and a few new things to worry about!
I just can't figure out why you'd have to put a sarong (or whatever) over a hotel room light bulb. They generally are as dim as a night light and I can't see to read by them as it is. Are there unbreakable 75-watt bulbs to take along to read by?

"While traveling, I can wait till I get dressed and to the lobby for some caffine." - and what makes you think nobody added anything unwanted to that drink?

GoT, you're right--it was Chandler who peed on Monica.

Percolated pee? Gross. But weren't the children held hostage in Russia encouraged to drink their urine so they wouldn't get dehydrated? I don't recall reading any death by urine stories.

Oh. Maybe I'm wrong then. Joey tried, but couldn't do it, and Chandler stepped up??? But I DO know that Joey said, "And I'd PEE on anyone of YOU too!!!"

I do see your point FainaAgain, but that's a subject for a wholllle separate "gross outs in public food preparation" thread! ;-)

While I realize brewed urine can not really cause "death", I still won't brew coffe in the room. If I get held hostage in my hotel room and become dehydrated I would then brew some urine coffe no doubt.

I'm pretty lax in the germ/gross out department. I can even watch a TV program about worms while eating a plate of spaghetti!! HeHe!
