Muir Woods on way to Sonoma??

We are going to Sonoma from the San Francisco airport and were wondering if it's possible to go to Muir Woods on the way. Does anyone know if this is feasible?

Joann - Yes it is possible, since the airport is southeast of the city and you can drive through SF across the Golden Gate Bridge toward Sonoma. Traffic can be hairy during rush hours and the bridge can back up, but it's a neat ride, seeing the city and the bridge. (be sure to stop at the viewing area at the North end of the bridge to stretch your legs and get a good look).

Muir woods is a great 1 or two hour stop... you can walk several trails and take in the trees, and that ferny, mossy smell is memorable. have fun.

Thanks so much! Didn't want to miss seeing them but didn't want to go too far out of the way. Now if only October would get here....

Joann - always remember...if its something you don't want to miss...its never out of the way! If you follow that advice, you will never have any regrets... pretty deep stuff huh?
