I forgot about the 45 mins, Brian. Dover's would probably meet the distance to airport requirement, but I'm not sure what their coverage is. Should be fine as there is a huge AF base.

Richmond Virginia has pretty good weather most of the year. It is a little humid in the summer and we do have snow, but no where near Pittsburgh. Fall is my favorite time of year and lasts up till about Christmas time. Just west of Richmond city in the counties of Chesterfield and Henrico have excellent public schools. We moved here from NJ 20 years ago and bought our home based on the schools and we were not disappointed. Our girls were 3 and 5 when we moved in. Mountains are an hour west and the ocean is 2 hours east. Richmond has an airport but it is not a hub. Washington DC is 2 hours north when traffic is fairly light.
There is not a lot of traffic around Richmond is not bad compared to most cities. Housing is very reasonable. You can definitely get a nice house for 400,000.
