I lived in Germantown for 12 years. Traffic is a nightmare there, plus it is grossly overdeveloped. Crime is up (we have a friend who is a cop and patrols the area). It is also racially diverse so you won't really find your primarily caucasian neighborhood.

Has anyone heard of Milestone Apartments in Germantown? Is the commute to DC on either rail or highway easy?

Dawng, are you actually reading these responses? Are you aware people are trying to tell you it would help if you told us which Germantown you are talking about?

Easy is relative. It is fairly close to 270, which can take you into the city. There is also a MARC station--which is Maryland's commuter train sytem--in Germantown and it's probably not too far from there.

Yes, I've heard of Milestone Apts. Milestone is a dense development next to Wal-Mart. It's an ok area. I used to take the Metro downtown from Germantown. It took me an hour and 15 minutes once I left my house, between driving to the metro and the actual ride downtown.
