move to Cape Cod or Nantucket?

Any thoughts on which would be the better place to move? Possibly have an opportunity to transfer to either, and am trying to decide which. Both look great but I do worry about long term apt or cottage rental costs. Anyone know of any sites that have long term rental info? Dont want to transfer and then end up living in my car..yikes....lol...

You'll have a lot more options, and lower cost of living, on the Cape.

I don't know about the cape, but I think it takes a special kind of person to live on Nantucket year round. It's an island, fairly remote, very cold winters, a summer resort.

Thanks all for the input, am starting to think Cape Cod might be the best fit if for no other reason than moving my stuff, seems like Nantucket discourages having a car on island (costs big bucks to ferry one across)as well as high costs of rental units on the island.

I have known folks that lived on Nantucket year round and they became raging boozers. It's pretty dismal in the dead of Winter.

I'd say avoid Nantucket. My brother has lived out there for a number of years ( phone company ) and I've heard many stories of fellow workers who've had to live in their cars while trying to find a resonable place to live. Also, long term ( i.e. thru the summer ) reasonable rentals are next to impossible to find.

Something to consider. Nantucket has more AA meeting per square mile than anywhere else in the country.

Tough place to be all winter.
