Just goes to show that there is no one list of "worth it or not" sights...

The Bureau of Printing and Engraving is one of the few things my daughters even remember about our trip to DC! (Ten years ago with they were 10 and 12). My husband and I enjoyed it as well.

I will see that we get there early in the day as it is 4 pm close during last week of Feb. This is a chore because I'm vacationing with a night person.

But he's looking forward to Mt. Vernon, as am I.

I'm sure glad I have 7 full days to see some of the Washington D.C. sights and Museums. There really are many choices.

Interesting. I've had some great visits to DC, but my first, in Jr High about 50 years ago, will always stand out in my mind. Among the highest of the highlights then, which I still recall fondly: Bureau of Engraving and Printing. LOL Different strokes...happily.

Just another comment on the Bureau of Engraving. We had a huge meeting of the guide association this week. When I mention that I thought the B of E rated 4 yawns, one experienced guide said that, rather than going there he'd prefer to be in a fight.

Different strokes is right.

Again, there is much more at Mount Vernon that the house tour now.

And GeorgeW, I am so glad you are named for the Father of Our Country rather than the other one who will remain nameless.
