Mother/Daughter Spa Trip
Hi All,
I'm thinking of taking my mother to Arizona for a spa trip-probably Sedona. Looking for great accomodations, lots of activities, wonderful food and service. We've never been to before so I am starting from "scratch". I am open as to when to go-is there a best time of year for about four days? This is a special trip so while I don't want to break the bank I can do $$$$ or more depending on packages/ammenities, etc.
TIA

I stayed at Miraval a few years ago and it was lovely. Yes, it was pricey, but it's not too terrible if you go in the summer.
They offer heaps of discounts for August and I never even noticed the heat.
Have you thought of searching for spas within Arizona on SpaFinder.com ?

Ten Thousand Waves just outside Santa Fe. Any time of year is great, but Fall is best time in NM. we LOVE it there!

Hi Brocketts!
There's a general discussion going on now about mother/daughter trips in the Lounge---may not give you exact tips but a nice reminder of how great these trips can be. http://fodors.com/forums/threadselec...=Katie_H&fid=1
Also, Fodor's highlighted its favorite Southwest hotels recently (including Ten Thousand Waves). Might be something to check out: http://www.fodors.com/wire/archives/002469.cfm
Good luck!

In Sedona, the place to go is the Enchantment Resort with its Mii Amo spa. Not sure what time of year you are planning, but Sedona in summer is hot, although not as bad as Phoenix. Non-spa activities such as hiking and the Pink Jeep Tour are worth including in your itinerary. For dining, the Heartline Cafe is pricey but top-notch; Picazzo's is reasonable for salads and pizza.
In Phoenix, my favorite spa is at the Boulders in Cave Creek (north Phoenix). Awesome Golden Door spa. Other good Phoenix area spas are at The Phoenician and Fairmont Princess in Scottsdale. Regardless, it sounds like you will have a wonderful time!
