Most Reliable Hotel Chain

I've been travelling alot for business lately, and have found that the most reliable chain for me is Marriott, now with Springhill Suites, Fairfield, and Courtyard. I'm wondering if it is just me, or if others share this observation.

Two that I love, Omni and Westin, are probably my most reliable full-service chain, but the problem is that I only find those hotels in a fraction of the cities I need to travel to.

Radisson has gone downhill. Hilton can be hit and miss, more "hit" with the Doubletree brand, IMHO.

We used to think that before we reserved a block of rooms at Courtyard for our wedding. It was a nightmare.

We reconfirmed the rooms two days before the wedding. We had several guests who had to share rooms as they lost their reservations.

I suppose I've used the Marriott family of hotels more than any other chain, and generally I've been very pleased, but there have been a few misses with them. It is important to have different standard for their various "families" of hotels, however. Don't expect a Fairfield to be as nice as a Renaissance, for example.

On the other hand, I can't recall ever being disappointed with a Hyatt for anything, and I've stayed at quite a few.

I've been at a couple of Hiltons that should have been closed down!

We have been very pleased with Marriott, and recommend the Marriott Rewards program. We have been upgraded to suites or junior suites several times.
