Moore Hotel in Seattle
Hi everyone! I'll be taking a trip to Seattle from October 5 through October 8 or so and I'm looking to get opinions on a couple of items. First, my primary purpose of my trip is to go to Microsoft on Saturday, October 6. I'm thinking of staying at the Moore Hotel on 2nd street and I was curious whether it is really an 13.69-mile, 18-minute drive (according to Mapblast.com) to Microsoft's Redmond location. Is there anything unusual with the traffic on a Saturday morning that I should know about in advance? Is car the best way there? Or, considering all that I've read about the liabilities of having a car while staying in the downtown Seattle area, should I consider whatever mass transit is available? Is there any type of mass transit that goes to Redmond?
Thanks very much for any help!

Err.. it should be a 18 - 30 minute drive if the 520 bridge across lake washington is "not" closed on THAT saturday...
So, you must be going to that Safco meeting everyone is taking about!!
Seriously, if the 520 is open on the saturday you come, then you should'nt have a problem.
But - is it Microsoft you want to get to or Safeco Field? Microsoft vast array of buildings covers Redmond and a little Bellevue. There are buses that go there, but transit and traffic jams are notorious in Seattle on weekdays in rush hour - If you go later around 10:30am its quite easy to get across the 520 to Redmond and vice versa.

I just went to their website. Maybe they changed it because of your complaint, but it VERY clearly says "The Moore Hotel does NOT provide free parking".

You call the front desk clerk "assy", sign on to a travel forum to complain, top old posts going back 9 years to find a place to plant your complaint and have 4 posts in a few minutes just to make the same complaint?
I think the front desk clerk made the right call.

Rukusmay~ You joined Fodor's today only so spam this board with the negative posts about the Moore Hotel.
I'm hoping you'll be willing to answer one question. Did you book with the hotel directly? Or thru a 2nd hand option like Expedia or something?
I ask this sincerely because their website very clearly says they DO NOT offer FREE PARKING. Either they changed their website in a hurry, just because of you, or you were reading the mistaken free parking listing somewhere else.
Would you be willing to clarify?

sf7307~~ I really have a feeling that is what probably happened. That he booked looking at hotels dot com, or Trip Advisor, Expedia, Orbitz or somewhere like that. That had incorrect information listed. And that is why the bellman thought he was nuts for demanding free parking.
NO HOTEL in downtown Seattle offers free parking and certainly not The Moore Hotel which is pretty much the very cheapest one there is.
