Monte Carlo or Flamingo

Which would you recommend the Monte Carlo or The Flamingo. Also, are the pools nice at Monte Carlo like they are at the Flamingo. Have to decide pretty soon. Thanks for your help.

I would go for the Monte Carlo. It seemed much nicer as we walked through on the way back from center strip. The Flamingo seemed OK but not as grand as the MC. I guess it will depend on what your looking for. The Flamingo is closer to the maion strip (Bellagio, Ceasers, Mirage and Venetian)

Monte Carlo just seems fancy. I honestly wasn't very impressed with the staff or the service there, and the bed was too hard. All things being equal, I'd choose the Flamingo because its location is much better!

Beyond the statuary out front there's nothing to distinguish the Monte Carlo. The disconnect between the exterior and interior was somewhat of a disappointment when we were there a couple years ago. And if you're going in October or November, expect that much of the pool area will be closed.

Not been to the Flamingo.

I've stayed at the Flamingo and for location alone would choose them again. The Monte Carlo is exactly as beachbummed stated.

When are you going? Are you sure the pool will be open?

You people expect too much from Monte Carlo.
Remember that MC was built by the Circus Circus ownership group, who also built Luxor.
It wasn't until Mandalay Bay came along that they changed the name of their group (to shed the bad connotation of Circus Circus) that they built a more luxurious resort for the first time.

Thanks for the help. I did call and the pools will all be open at Monte Carlo until November. Helen

Hi Helen.

We've been to Vegas twice this year and stayed at each hotel once..
I won't stay at Flamingo again. The rooms and corridors were shabby. I've seen people write about renovated rooms, but I guess we didn't get one of those. The grounds were beautiful, but the pool was packed beyond belief. Adutlts, Kids, pool noodles, rafts..no thanks.

Sure, the MC has nothing to distinguish it from, say the Bellagio(fountains) or TI(pirate ship), but my boyfriend and I commented that it was nice to not have hoards for people running around waiting for a fountain show or parade of clowns.

-The beds were fine.
-There's a nice little tram to the Bellagio.
-"Central" location doesn't really mean much to me because we cab it everywhere. Lazy? nah. I can walk for miles back at home.

Have fun! We're going to MC again at the end of October. They have some great rates right now.
