Monte Carlo Las Vegas
We've stayed at the Luxor but are staying at the MonteCarlo next week. Has anyone been there recently? Is the construction really that loud that you are awoken at 6 AM? and is the tram to the Bellagio closed because of the construction? Any info would help.

We stayed there last month. The main problems with the construction are that it blocks views of the Strip and it creates an unpleasant bottleneck when walking to the Caesar's and other casinos in that direction.
The tram is gone as is the crosswalk that used to connect the Monte Carlo to Walgreens.
If the room clerk gives you a dark room on a low floor overlooking the cooling system for the gaming floor, call the front desk, describe what you see, and ask for a room on a higher floor.

We have stayed there and enjoyed
it, but wouldn't in the near future
for reasons PPs mentioned.
Also isn't it also the casino
that recently experienced
a fire on its top floors?
Wondering if that has made
any difference in occupancy
or rates?

Thanks for the info, now I am not so excited about my trip...our stay at the Luxor was outstanding...they gave us a great deal at the Monte carlo...I guess I know why, we'll just have to wait and see....Don't spend that much time in the room anyway, but I would like to be able to sleep with the construction noise. Thanks again. anyone with any other info, please post, don't leave til the weekend.

The fire happened before our stay and it didn't effect us in any way.
The construction seems to go on 24/7, but it did not disrupt our sleep.
My only dissatisfaction with the Monte Carlo was that the front desk staff was inhospitable.
