Mom and Pop Motels in the Florida Keys

Hello all.

I am looking for a good mom and pop hotel/ motel to stay at for the week of 1/9/05. Has anyone ever stayed at the Sandpiper Motel? Can anybody recommend a mom and pop hotel in the Marathon, FL area? I want to be near Bahia Honda Park.

Have you checked availability on the cabins at Bahia Honda?

Check out Sombrero Reef Inn in Marathon, it is right by Sombrero Beach, a beautiful beach! It is Mom and Pop and clean and quiet. Be sure not to confuse it with Sombrero Resort, which is a very large old resort. Remember, you get what you pay for, and Sandpiper is just that, I think it's the cheapest place in Marathon.

I'm working on a study in marathon right now and one of the places I liked was Seascape Resort. I didn't stay there, but of all the small hotels, it had the most beautiful grounds and a very pretty location. It's also recommended on Tripadvisor.

If you want an inexpensive motel, try the Kingsail Motel in Marathon...There are a number of others...let me know what your price range is.

Seascape does indeed have beautiful grounds and very nice but not over-luxurious rooms and Owners who seemed to really care about thier guests but.... it is not cheap, we stayed there last Summer , you do pay for the beautiful grounds, if you have the money it's worth it.
