We will be staying at the Vintage Inn. What reasonably priced restaurants do you recommend in Yountville or St helena?

I second Piatti. My favorite in Yountville (in the whole valley, for that matter) is Bistro Jeanty, but it can get pricey.

Bistro Jeanty is very nice, but rather pricey. For dinner, try Tra Vigne in St. Helena. It's excellent and boasts a very extensive wine list.

It's one of my favorites in the area. Have fun in Yountville! ***kim***

I suppose we need a definition of "reasonably priced" to be accurate. Tra Vigne is one of my favorites, but I think both it and Brix are more expensive than Piatti, for example.

One of my fave subjects...food in Yountville!

Hurley's Bar and Grill is nice and not exorbitant.
Phillippe Jeanty opened up the new Pere Jeanty where the pizza place Frankie, Johnny and Luigi's used to be. So so reviews from what we've heard. Maybe still working out the kinks.

Napa Valley Grill has always been nice and not too expensive.

Pacific Cafe is inexpensive and serves B'fast, Lunch and Dinner.

Compadres is a chain but decent Mexican food and not too $$$$.

The best meal I've had in Y'ville was the day after T'giving at Cucina Ala Carte behind the Vintage 1870 shopping area.
Great big Italian deli platter, good wines etc....But then again, it may have just been the fine company of all of our dining companions...Right Marilyn, R5, PamSF and KirRoyale? :-?

Ah yes, Kal, I am sure that the company (and the lengthy pre-dinner wine tasting) had a lot to do with your enjoyment of the meal!

Marilyn, I'm with you on the price thing, yet, I don't think Bistro Jeanty is pricey-maybe Bouchon?

I don't think Bistro Jeanty is particularly pricey either, R5, especially compared with some of the more expensive places in the Napa Valley. But I'm not sure I'd call it "reasonable." I think Bistro Jeanty, Tra Vigne, Brix, CIA, are all in the same range, while you can definitely dine for less at a place like Piatti.
