Hi Melisssa ~
Moab was one of favorite spots during our 2 week western vacation summer 2002. We had fun @Eddie McStiff's. It's a casual joint, w/several choices of beer and good chicken wings & pizza. We also ate at Fat City Smokehouse, which was v. good! We all enjoyed our b-b-q here, w/smashed potatoes. Portions were big, service good.
There's a nice little ice cream shop on the main drag of Moab.
We talked w/people while in Moab that had dined at Sunset Grill. This place is perched on a hill @the north end of Moab. They were v. pleased w/their meal.
Have a great time in Moab!

Yes, Melissa, we did a full day excursion w/ O.A.R.S out of Moab.
They were excellent! (www.oars.com)
In the a.m. we went in a 4 wheel drive vehicle to petroglyphs, then onto Canyonlands National Park. They drove us up and around the old Shafer trail. The views were incredible. Then we boarded a boat (the river was too low for any rapids), had lunch on the boat. (Absolutely delicious ~ and what an abundance!) We just meandered our way down the Colorado for a couple of hours. It was a great day and worth every penny. The guides were real pros w/personality to boot.
Also, just want to add ~ our first day at Moab we visited Dead Horse State Park. The views here are also not to be missed. And, of course, you must spend a day or two at Arches. You & your family will love Moab. Tricia

Slickrock Cafe is good, but we most enjoyed Buck's Grillhouse. Our family spent 5 wonderful days in Moab. The only meal we regretted was at the Fat City Smokehouse. Some portions were burnt, others underdone... Go figure!
We did a hiking & rapelling trip with Desert Highlights in Arches. It was the BEST thing we have ever done!
