Mississippi

Hi. I was just wondering if anyone knows anything about Long Beach Mississippi. I am thinking about going there next year for vacation and would appreciate any information at all. Thanks

OK. I am reading things that I am not too sure about. Does anyone know if Long Beach MS is clean. Some people are talking about other beaches in MS being dirty. Please Help.

Okay, so we can assume you are going to Mississippi for a beach vacation. Can I ask how you came up with MS? What exactly are you wanting to do while on vacation and why did you pick Long Beach?

I'm in Mississippi, have been to the beaches many times thru the yrs. You can do better than Long Beach but a plus about this area is it's not so 'touresty'!

Not the whites beaches but nice.

My relatives have lived in the Gulfport area for decades, it is more an industrial coast in my opinion..we didn't frolic in blue water, it's calm and dark....not really a "beach" destination as stjohnbound said...

Ok. I picked MS because I have never been there and was just looking at somewhere where the beaches might not be a crowded. We will be traveling with four kids who love the beach. Maybe I should keep looking. Thank you all so much. LWC

Lwc, if you do another post and include information such as where you're coming from, how far you want to travel, what time of year, and what types of activities, etc. you want for your family I'm sure the Fodorites will come up with lots of great suggestions for you. Good luck!

Come 50 miles east to Gulf Shores/ Orange Bch Al or do Destin Fl. Much better choices for accommodations and dining and terrific beaches
