Minneapolis to Mackinac Island

We are driving from Minneapolis, Mn. to Mackinac Island in a week or so and wonder what to be sure to stop and see along the way as we drive thru the state of Wisconsin and into Michigan.
Any special light houses, beautiful sights, natural or otherwise.
Thanks,
jeffjudy

Some of my favorite things along US 2 in Michigan are the Cut River Bridge and Fayette State Park.

The bridge is a nice place to get out for a stretch and walk down to the Lake Michigan shore. If it was later in the summer, playing in the river mouth would be great fun.

Fayette State Park is just south of US 2 between Gladstone and Manistique. Fayette is a ghost town from the heyday of iron mining in the UP. It is amazing to see what has been restored from the town site.
