Susan, if you do a Google search using the phrase "colorado mine tours" you'll find plenty to choose from. Good luck.

Directly off I-70 in Idaho Springs(as you head away from Denver, towards Vail)is a mining area. Can't promise that it's open in Nov though.
In Gilpin County ,in the town of Central City(where the casinos are) on Eureka St. was The Lost Gold Mine.Again, not sure but may be summer-only activity. Good Luck.

The Old One Hundred Mine in Silverton has tours in which you ride in on a little train and learn about gold mining. The nearby Mayflower Mill also has a self-guided tour. I don't know if these tours are still running in November. My family enjoyed them this past July.
