Susan, if you do a Google search using the phrase "colorado mine tours" you'll find plenty to choose from. Good luck.

Directly off I-70 in Idaho Springs(as you head away from Denver, towards Vail)is a mining area. Can't promise that it's open in Nov though.<BR>In Gilpin County ,in the town of Central City(where the casinos are) on Eureka St. was The Lost Gold Mine.Again, not sure but may be summer-only activity. Good Luck.

The Old One Hundred Mine in Silverton has tours in which you ride in on a little train and learn about gold mining. The nearby Mayflower Mill also has a self-guided tour. I don't know if these tours are still running in November. My family enjoyed them this past July.
