Milwaukee baby friendly activities
Hello,
We have a 7 month old baby and are hoping to take a long weekend this summer. We live in Chicago and were thinking of going to Milwaukee. Any suggestions of activities that we can do with a baby in tow?
Thanks!

If you like baseball, have you ever been to a game at Miller Park? Great stadium! We live in the western 'burbs and try to get up there for a game every summer.
I've also heard very good things about the zoo in Milwaukee. I think our daughter was about 9 months the first time we took her to Brookfield. She enjoyed it.
Have fun!

Your child is so young that I don't think you have to plan activities that will amuse him/her. Even the Betty Brinn Children's Museum might not be that much fun.
At that age, my kids liked their regular routine, and being pushed around in a stroller. The Art Museum or the Public Museum are both great for that. As you know, Lake Michigan is rarely warm enough for a little one to enjoy the water.
We have ethnic or music festivals all summer, and the're negotiable by stroller, as well.

There are free outdoor concerts at the PAC (Performing Arts Center) in downtown Milwaukee. The Wednesday afternoon concerts are geared toward children. They also have evening concerts, but I'm not sure which evenings. You could bring your little one to the evening concerts as well.
Depending on when you plan to visit there are many festivals in Milwaukee. Almost every weekend there is an ethnic festival at Maier festival park which is near downtown. There is also State Fair in West Allis, which is just west of Milwaukee.

I would think a walk along Lake Michigan would be enjoyable for a baby too...of course, you could do that in Chicago too but it is a different skyline to take in, and I am sure your baby would enjoy his/her stroller ride wherever it may be!
