Millennium UN Plaza Hotel - NYC

Has anyone stayed here recently? Prices are pretty reasonable by NYC standards ($149/nt) - kind of worries me. Includes a breakfast or parking. At prices like this, should I even bother with Priceline?

Isn't this really close to Ground Zero?

The UN is quite a long ways from Ground Zero, like 2 miles uptown.

The UN Plaza hotel is 4 miles from the World Trade Center site so that's not an issue. It's a very nice hotel located across from - you guessed it - The UN! Many people I know and work with stay there and I've only heard positive comments about the hotel. It's about a 10 minute walk from Grand Central but there is a crosstown bus on 42nd St. (2 blocks away) which will take you to just about every subway line you'll need. I think that you are getting a good deal. Have a good trip.

It's a very nice hotel. that's a good price. It's on the East side, near the UN. Palm II restaurant is around the corner and very good. It's about 5 miles from ground zero. 2 miles from ground zero would be soho/village (20 city n/w blocks = 1 mile). The only negative may be that it is far over east, a bit away from most tourist sites. It's a nice neighborhood in any case.

My parents stayed there about a year and a half ago. They really enjoyed it. It is a very nice hotel in a nice, residential neighborhood. Me is correct that the only real downside is that it is a little far from tourist attractions (other than the UN) and the subway. Don't be concerned about the price -- the price usually drops to that level at this time of year.
