military jet rides/tours...

My father's 50th birthday is coming up, and I seem to remember one time seeing a vacation plan that included taking a tour/ride in a military jet (dont remember if it was actually military, or just one of those really expensive private 2 person supersonic jets). If anybody has any info on a trip like this would you please let me know? Also, if the jet tour falls through does anybody know how to sign up for the NASCAR adventure? (where you actually get to tag along with a professional nascar driver for a few laps). Any info would be much appreciated.

Thanks,
Adam

I don't know about those, but I do know how one can get to handle the controls in a nuclear submarine. All it takes from what I've read in the news is being an oil executive from Texas (as were almost all of the 16 civilians on the nuclear sub that destroyed the Japanese boat and killed those teenage boys). Many also were big contributors to the GOP party and/or the USS Missouri fund (whose chairman is George Bush Sr). So I advise that Dad make a big contribution to the GOP and then get his congressman to get him one of those military ride alongs....Rumsfeld's moratorium on that stuff will end soon I'm sure.

There is a Richard Petty Driving Experience School at the Lowe's Motor Speedway in Concord (near Charlotte). I don't know if you get to hang out with the drivers, but they let you drive REAL fast around the track.

Adam-Try www.adventurequest.com. They specialize in unusual vacations. Type in "flying" under search and you may find something. Good luck!

Our Mysterious Mr x is another fat cat GOP member I see. Maybe you can take a "ride-along" on a nuclear sub yourself up past the oil rigs drilling for those 6 months of oil supplies available in the Artic National Refuge
once your relative kick it and you get to inherit their 50 million bucks estate tax free Mr X. Oh, but that oil won't be available to be drilled and shipped out for at least 10 years I have read and by then this nation's economy will be in total freefall and we will be overrun with immigrants from countries such as Bangledesh as global warming will cause massive flooding in low lying areas of the world.

John-Stick to the question asked. Please do not interject your opinions and try to debate topics which are non-relevant to the original question. If you want to debate there are other boards set up solely for that purpose. This is a TRAVEL forum. And, you are not amusing or wanted here. Go troll somewhere else please....

The subject header on this posting was curious to me so I took a look. X certainly is an anger filled person.
I'm not sure I understand the Republicans' angers and fears (fear of losing the Civil War again? of being poor again? that they'll be called into account for past sins?), but it's clear they have a lot of cognitive dissonance to resolve (enough to fill the state of Florida, for example). That would explain their tendency to insult--they can't maintain their preferred view of themselves and of reality in the face of logic, so they resort to insults, just as little kids do (and are taught not to). X says na-na as his big retort to the truth.

There you Republicans go again (like your idol Reagan used to say)...telling people what to do. Why is it that you like to tell strangers what to do so?
Could it be you are....bullies?

To Sigh-I am NOT a Republican! I am just sick and tired of people like John and yourself turning every innocent question around to a political debate. This is a travel forum!!! NOT, a forum for debating or making political comments. Fodor's rules specify that this is a travel forum only! When are you people going to get it through your thick skulls that this is for travel. Are you that dense? Or, are you just some kind of sicko trying to get attention. In either case, if you do not have any valuable travel-related advice, go troll somewhere else.

And to Adam-I am sorry this has turned into an ugly political debate. I hope your question got answered. The majority people here are genuinely interested in travel and giving helpful advice. Until Fodor's requires some type of registration system, we are stuck with psychos, weirdos and trolls like the above posters.
