This Hilton is not new but just re-opening. It is across the street from Ground Zero and was heavily damaged in the September 11th attack. I believe they have only been back in business for a couple of days.

Hi Home,
Eva is right, the M Hilton has just reopened and is offering good deals to stay there. It's a perfect location for visiting your son in Tribeca. It's a very nice hotel too.

There are two parking garage's but they are about 3-4 blocks away but well within walking distance. The two garages, one is located on Fulton/Gold St called Chelnik (bad spelling) and the other is on Pearl St around the corner. They are indoor garages and part of an apartment complex which is called Southbridge Towers. My mom lives here and sometimes when I stay over if I could not find a meter on the street I park in the garage overnight and on the weekend the overnight rate was about $24 dollars. If you park in the lot on Gold ST (which is right off Fulton) and across from NY Downtown hospital you can then walk up Fulton ST about 4 blocks and you will run into the Hilton. They are having the "grand" re-opening today so I will check to see if they have tv spots on the news tonight but I am sure the renovations have made this hotel a very welcome improvement and you can't beat that rate for a Saturday night.

We have stayed here a year before 9/11 and my family loved it. The staff was sooo nice and the pool is pretty nice. They even let us take some fruit from the fruit bowl back to our room. lol

We had vowed to return next year but wasn't able to due to 9/11. We would probably have return now that it finally have reopened but the beginning of this year we tried out Hilton NY and was/is hooked-hahaha. This is our hotel now. Our first stay we got a special $169/night for an executive floor 2 double with gives you access to the lounge that provides deluxe continental breakfast and horderves at cocktail hour but I'd booked a special promo package and also go breakfast daily at their restaurant.
Right now you can book a studio room in the Hilton Club rooms for $150/night with access to the executive lounge.

We are going at the end of the month and will be booking thru www.hotelkingdom.com

There is a website (posted by another fodorite) iconparking.com where you can find great parking rates (& locations) I found a garage
CLIFF ST PARKING LLC-GARAGE
99 John Street
New York , NY 10038

entrance: 19 Cliff, Between John & Fulton which would charge $21 for 26hrs (wanted to see what would happen after 24hrs.) on a Sat nite.

The other hotel in Tribeca is the Tribeca Grand. Check prices on Quikbooks.com & Hotelkingdom.com. I actually think $179 sounds high for a Sat. night but I could be wrong.
