Mid Nov or Early Dec

Considering New Orleans, and rates seem much lower in December. So my questions are:

Is there much difference in climate?
Can you still eat outside and walk around? Would appreciate any information.

When I visited New Orleans last it was the week of December 9 and it was 90 degrees. But it wasn't humid at all and felt great. FYI

Are you SURE you were in New Orleans?

Barbara:

I'd say November. The South in general is still warm through November. December is a touch and go, take your chances with the weather, anywhere in the South, including Florida. I'd say Louisiana is in the 70s in November.

To xman: I live in S.C. so I know what humidity is. Believe me, New Orleans was 90 degrees, but not humid. Very enjoyable!

I was in New Orleans in early December of 2001 and it was in the lower 70's for highs. Great! But... I was there in early December of 2000 and there were some days that the highs were in the low 50's and windy. Brr! Even though the weather can be iffy in December,I love to go at this time of year to see all the Christmas displays and the home tours. Many of the restaurants have special reveillon meals, too.And yes, hotel rates are a bit lower, just ask for a Papa Noel rate. There is a website about all the Christmas activites in New Orleans. Just do a search on google and I think you will find it. Laurie
