Miami rent cheap appartement

Hello, I will be around Miami for about five months (november to march). I look for the more economic but confortable lodging. In the last years i stayed in 'extended stay' type motel ,around $1,500 by month for a clean suite with kitchenette and one bed; very confortable and nice place. I don't need more: just one bed with good air conditionning and parking in any location with easy acces to 95 (but i have a nice Mercedes and don't want to go in a place where it will be scrap for sure!!!! - and yes i am a cheap guy...lol) I have my car and like to drive to south beach and Frt. Lauderdale. My question is: What can be the price for rent a 'real' appartement in a typical location (example: little havana) i means not in a hotel place, but standars appartement rent by local people. i just want a 1 1/2 furnished room but clean, correct and quiet, but just for this 5 months. Is it a good alternative to the renting of a motel room for 5 months? can i have a correct place for $700 by month....if not how much??? where can i have information on this place????

Thanks a lot from Montreal,

Marco

I don't know about little Havana, but you can probably find something a bit cheaper and much nicer at the same time. Vrbo.com is vacation rental by owner. They have lots of listings in the Miami area, many of them for nightly or weekly. Some people might be happy to find someone to rent for "the season." Remember for that period of time prices should be negotiable (you could offer less than they'er asking).

Just make sure as you read the ads to look for parking and also ASK before signing anything if parking is included in the price. Also remember you won't have daily maid service which you might have had in the motel. You should also find something on the beach. Here's 1 I thought looked not bad but I'd want more photos.

By "a bit cheaper" I meant cheaper than what you've been paying. The one I posted is $1350.

Didn't you post this same question last year?

Have you checked the Miami Herald? The local newspaper is the first place I'd look for a seasonal rental.

Also, there is an apartment finder book (I have one at home) and I'll try and find the website for you. It covers Broward County.

Check the "miami" page on craigslist.org. Then go to houses, rentals, or whatever you need. You'll find lots of opportunities.

Found it!

I haven't visited the website but the cover of the two inch thick book has www.apartmentguide.com.

Good luck!

Thanks Tanddori and Go, two great web sites for searching. Does some of you already do this: renting a basic appartement in replacement of "official" hotel lodging? -dont talk here of luxuous condominiums.
Excuse my bad english. but my first language is french!

recto, six month or seasonal rentals are very common in South Florida especially for your time period.
