Miami Recreation
Hi All - Quick question - I won a trip to Miami and need to choose some "recreation activities" that will be included. I have a choice of a few hours at the Everglades on one of those fast airboats OR catamaran sailing & snorkeling. Is the Everglades worth it for that short of a time? I know this is a matter of preference, but I'm sure I would enjoy both and wanted to get some feedback from all of you...Let me know!! Thanks - Laura

Because my personal belief is that the airboats are detremental to the environment of the Everglades (you get to wear a headset to drown out the noise of the boat but what does the wildlife get??), I choose the sailing trip.
Nothing like seeing Miami from the water.

I don't mean to hijack your thread here, but where will you book your sailing/snorkeling? We will be in Miami in March and this might be fun for us too. (We've done the Everglades thing before. It was fun, but the airboat is a little scary. And they run smack over the alligators. It is a little disconcerting!)

Kelly, we like to give our tour money to the Miami Historical Museum and tour with Dr. George. I think because it is a non-profit, the tours aren't as expensive and this guy is an expert instead of a $7 an hour guide hawking tips. Not that there is anything at all wrong with that.
If you can, sign up for the Stiltsville/Key Biscayne Tour. It is usually on a Sunday from 10AM to 1PM and the cost is $34.
