Joanna---would you consider any other coastal cities within FL, or are you set on the east coast? I live in the gulf side, and I can give you a ton of info on this area nearby: Sarasota, Siesta Key, etc. Let me know.....(I am in the midst of planning 3 different international excursions for the year, and I know how you may be feeling....ugh!).

Hi Joanna,

I was just wondering if you did the math on this whole driving 24 hours thing with regards to money and actually flying.

Depending on what you are driving, You could gas up $40 a tank every, what 6 hours that is $160 just one way, then parking at $20 a day for a week is another $140 not to mention tolls enroute.

Already you have around $500 round trip, just to drive. And wouldn't a plane ticket round trip be about $300-$400 from Toronto (depending on when and whom you book it through.

So for another $300- $500 more you could just fly and take you a little over 3 hours as apposed to 48 hours of straight drive time.

I would save up the extra money or take a side job for a week or two if I were you.

Valerie, since joanna is leaving tomorrow, are you still suggesting she find a plane ticket today? I would guess that her plans are now pretty complete.

Hi Patrick,

No, you are correct, it is too late this time. But she mentioned that she has done this before, and I am thinking next time, perhaps it is worth doing the math and in addition, saving a little more money before.
