Miami airport & public transport into Miami
Hi there!
I'm flying into Miami from the UK on 24 March & will be staying there for 2 nights.
Is it feasable to stay around the airport & use Public transport to get into Miami? If it is what's the best way to get from the airport?
We'd like to see the Art Deco area & the beaches.
Driving seems like a nightmare so I thought we wouldn't pick the car up until we were leaving Miami.
Any help would be appreciated!

Public transportation is not worthwhile in Miami. By all means get out to South Beach and stay your two nights there. You can probably pick up a car there when you're ready to leave for the rest of your trip wherever that may be -- instead of returning to the airport to pick it up, and it may even be cheaper to do so. Driving off the beach and onto the highways to get OUT of Miami is no problem.
I'm sorry I can't help you with information about taxi or shuttle from the airport to the beach -- but that's sure what I'd do instead of spending two nights near the airport!

Thanks for the advice!
All I have to do now is find a reasonably priced hotel on South Beach. Most of the hotels on Tripadvisor seem to be infested with roaches!
Tried bidding on Priceline but no deals there yet. As I've got a couple of months to go I'll try bidding again in a week or so.
Thanks again

Welshgirl, I just saw your dates and realized that is your problem. The weeks before Easter and after Easter are huge in the US. Have you tried Hotwire?
Reasonable South Beach hotels are the FAirview (non-oceanfront), The Avalon (Ocean Drive across the street from the beach) Penguin (same), South Seas (oceanfront Collins) and Marseilles (same). Also, check out the Holiday Inn South Beach.
