mendenhall glacier river rafting/float for seniors?
My active, yet 66 year old, mother is considering taking the Mendenhall Glacier River Rafting tour... It's on a 12 person raft and says that it is an "exciting and safe introduction into whitewater rafting". How rough is it?
Is the Mendenhall River Float trip is another one that sounds similar...any info on the roughness?
Is there another way to view the glacier on the lake from a boat?

We just came back from Alaska and did the Mendenhall river float trip. Very tame rapids, not a close view of the glacier, not much wild life if any, saw a eagle and we thought it could of been planted by the company because that is were they took our pictures and the eagle was in it. Save your money, our trip was 119.00 per person and to tell you the truth it was boring. If we would have to do it over, we would of taken the shuttle to the glacier for 7.00 per person and I think we would have gotten a closer view of the glacier.

We did the float excursion several years ago - our family ranged in age from 4 yrs old to 68 yrs old at the time.
Very tame ride, rather boring. I think if the point is to see the glacier, another excursion would be better. We saw the glacier, but it wasn't very "up close" and what we saw was just ok.
