MCO: Alamo, Dollar or Enterprise?

Which one of those car rental companies would you choose? I will be renting an SUV in Orlando in the first week of October, and their prices are more or less the same.

Earl,

As far as I'm concerned, pick the one with the best price. In my experience they are all about the same.

By the way, so I don't have to look up the letters MCO, which airport is it?

Earl I just reserved an SUV from Alamo(Orlando) yesterday.I don't know what rate you're looking at but they have a special,THAT ENDS TOMORROW 9/6,for $35 per day,a good rate for an SUV.I will be there in November.

Earl:

Alamo is not onsite at MCO, so if Dollar is the same price, I would use them. We rented from Dollar over the Labor Day weekend and it went smoothly and is very convenient - no shuttle bus to cars!

Honk: MCO = Orlando (International Airport).

Charlie: thank you. I've already made a reservation. $35 is a great rate, and I will stick with this reservation unless I get something better on priceline.

Bev: thanks for your advice!

If you will do a search on this site you will pull up several discussions on specific car rental companies in Orlando. I stopped renting from Alamo in Orlando after several visits for several reasons. One is the LONG shuttle ride to the rental location--it's several miles, not right off the airport. Second is the long lines--Alamo offers the lowest rates and partner with many package providers so sometimes an entire planeload of people will go from plane to baggage to shuttle to Alamo. I've stood in line behind 50 people at midnight. Third is the staff--I got a car whose brakes squelled so loud you could hear outside (they said they all did that) as well as one that was filled with smoke. They really push all the extra charges. So, in my opinion, if you want the cheapest but don't care about time or service, then Alamo in Orlando is your best choice.
