Two couples travelling from Greenville, South Carolina in late May seeking information on vacation destinations en route to Vermont. Accomodations for less than a week - preferrably in condo/vacation rental near beach and attractions. Thanks.

The Jersey shore has some very lovely beach towns...my favorite is Spring Lake, but the accomodations there are mostly b&b's...Long Beach Island, also along the Jersey shore has many rental properties...the Jersey shore is convenient to Atlantic City, Philadelphia, and a Six Flags amusement park...then there's the Hamptons and Montauk on Long Island, which would put you about 3 hours from New York City and the highways leading to Vermont.

Were you looking for a southern beach location or farther up the coast?

We were actually thinking of South Carolina, or North Carolina or Virginia-not really sure. Just looking for any suggestions. Thanks.

I'd recommend Cape May, NJ. It is Victorian inspired beach town with specialty shops.

One of my favorites is Delaware. Either Bethany Beach or Rehoboth Beach. You won't be disappointed.
