Mauna Lani Bay
Thanks to all who helped in picking the hotel for next week...
What can you tell me about this place? What should I make sure I do and what should I avoid? I have heard the Canoe restaurant at the hotel is expensive and not worth it... Comments? Suggestions?
Thanks!

I dunno, we think the Canoe House is the nicest restaurant we've ever been to, certainly one of the most romantic. If cost cutting is an objective, the Mauna Lani in general is going to be a challenge. Worth it, IMO. Have fun.
As far as other things to do, don't miss exploring the Parker ranch area and Kamuela town (where Merriman's, another restaurant, is in our top 10, too.)

Mahalo Andy! Good job with all the mutiple posts for every question you have about Hawaii, it gives me the opportunity to promote....er....describe each and every facility in detail for you, over and over again! All those other attention-deficit-disorder folks out there need to see a lot of Hawaii posts here on Fodor's every day too, or else they might forget that they once thought about visiting! So great job, keep up the endless questions and the multiple posts!
Now as far as what to do and what to avoid: DO book the most expensive room possible, and tell 'em MissMaui said so! They'll be more likely to resolve any consumer disputes in your favor if they think you are a "high roller." DON'T forget to to tour, tour, tour and get "lei'd" at the DumiTouristmanawanu shopping mall!
Not an agent, e-mail me1 Mahalo!
