Maui Wedding Night Dinner Suggestions

(Sorry to post this twice -- I left out the word "Maui" from the title..)

We will be getting married in Maui in August. I am looking for suggestions for a beautiful and delicious restaurant to have dinner that evening after we are married. We are looking for something memorable and spectacular and would love to eat outdoors with a view of the beach/ocean. Something upscale and sophisticated and without too much hustle and bustle. We will be staying on Ka'anapali beach, so something not located in Wailea or Hana or with too much driving. Thank you all for your help. I truly appreciate it.

Plantation House in Kapalua is very nice.

Ask for window seating when you make the reservation.

Best Wishes!

How far would we have to drive to get to Mama's Fish House? Where is it located? Also, which direction does it face? Any chance of seeing a sunset from Mama's Fish House? Thanks.

I second The Planation House. Also, Pacific O might work.

Best wishes!

Mama's is about an hours drive from Ka'anapali, depending on the traffic. It's on the north side of the island.
See the map:

It's VERY expensive, and while lots of people on this site love it, I'm not a fan. Sometimes the food is wonderful and sometimes it isn't at all.

There is a company that will set up a dinner for two on the south or west Maui beach of your choice. Complete with waiter... Pricey, but not that much more than a Maui restaurant! The company is listed in my Maui Revealed book at home and I can look it up for you when I get home. The authors did it and recommended it in their book.

I was actually wondering about the dinner on the beach thing. You are right, it is not that much more than a good restaurant. However, I am wondering about wind, mosquitos, etc. Has anyone here done the dinner-on-the-beach thing and can post what it is really like? Thanks.
