Maui to Pearl Harbor

I would like to book a day trip to see Pearl Harbor. Just a few questions:
1) How far of a drive to PH from the airport?
2) How much time at PH?
3) Would it be possible to go to PH in the morning and a great beach in the afternoon? For example, the North Shore??
Thanks!

It's only a 15-20 drive to Pearl Harbor from the airport. But I strongly suggest you have an early arriving flight. Some days, all the access passes are gone by 10am. You do have to get in line and each person gets a pass. Prior to that if you have any small bags you must check them for $3 each. You can bring NOTHING in except what fits in your pockets and a small camera.

It depends on your flight schedule what else you can include.

I doubt you'd have time to make it up to North Shore on a day trip that includes Pearl Harbor. But certainly you could see a bit of Honolulu and Waikiki.

About 10 minute drive to USS Arizona Memorial from airport.

Expect 2-3 hours at USS Arizona Memorial. Add 1 1/2 hours for USS Missouri. Add 1 hour for USS Bowfin if you want to do them.

You will have no problem going to a North Shore Beach on the same day.

Take a tour of Oahu. Driving tour #2 on this list includes North Shore. Takes about 3-5 hours depending on length of stops.

You might also want to go to National Cemetery of the Pacific. It is near Pali Highway where you could start the driving tour.

I did a day tour to Oahu with Polynesian Adventures. Yes, it was a bus tour, but it was honestly OK to have someone else do the driving and not get lost in traffic! We did Pearl Harbor, USS Missouri and Waikiki. It was about $300 and that includes the interisland airfare.

Thanks everyone for your replies. We are now thinking we may skip PH and save it for another time. We have an Aloha Airlines voucher for $175, so we would like to use it. We are interested in leaving Maui between 9-10 in the morning and returning late afternoon.
What would be the best beach for us to go to? Do we need to rent a car? We really aren't up for tons of sightseeing - just a nice beach with beach bars. Any thoughts?
