Maui Information

Hello, I have created a new site for those interested in all things Maui. It is easy to navigate, has a warm feel and you will feel like your already sitting on the beach with a mai tai.

http://www.mauiinfosource.com

Let me know honestly what you think. What do you like about it? Not like about it? What would you like to see thats not their?

e-mail: [email protected]

Thanks for your time and we look foward to seeing you soon on Maui, the greatest island in the world

ok, you asked:
in this post, "there" not their, "you're" not your.
Con de nast is incorrect.
Shining, not shinning.
Use numbers (not spelling out) for numbers higher than 10 (47).
(Seems like I might need to chill on Maui, huh?)

sylvia3:

Should it be: "Seems as though I might need...," instead of "Seems like"?

Thanks for not writing "in" Maui.

I think you have done a splendid job. It is easy to navigate and I love the maps. I will look at it more in depth over the weekend and get back with you.

I loved the website and will bookmark it for the future. We will probably be going to Maui Sept. 07 and I will check out the events calendar before we go. Loved the maps, the beautiful photos and the events calendar. Didn't see anything I didn't like!

Very nice. Pretty to look at. Some tiny spelling errors that you'll want to fix:
Home Page:
Con de nast just take out the space between the n and the d in Con de and capitalize the n in Nast.

shinning take out the extra n so it reads shining

Philosphy page:

We want our visitors to really enjoy being here, almost like there (should be "they're") really visiting Hawaii

When I was navigating I clicked on the word "home" and didn't click on one of the choices so it kicked me out to the "page cannot be found" did you want it to do that? The good thing is that when you have to come back in the beautiful music begins again!!!!

This is a really nice web site.

It is a really nice site. As I about to leave for Maui in 10 days, I found it to be very informative.

One question, I am not sure, but do you have to have permission to link to other website [i.e. the menus for the Westin's restaurants etc]? I was just wondering.

"as though" instead of "like" is almost always preferred, but that's another losing battle.
Jrobb: Photos are gorgeous, condo pages seem very good, I'm buying a Lotto ticket tomorrow...

I like the snorkeling section. Have you been snorkeling to these places? I like the maps of the locations. Who mapped those out?

jrobb,
One thing I noticed is in the snorkeling sections in "When to" it says, "All site are better..." Should be "sites".

Well done jrobb. I have added your site to my favorites to offer those in need of advice. Good luck with it. Love the music, the pictures, just very well done!

In addition to debitNM's question re: the links, I have to ask if you have permission to use all of those photos. I see several that I know are owned by clients of mine and I certainly do not recall them asking me to send you any images. Do remember that many businesses work very hard to develop their branding and are very particular about how and by whom that brand is presented. It is one thing to make a personal website and use your own images, but to use copyrighted images and solicit for advertising is probably something you should rethink.

This is a commercial website and a business. Fodors does not allow advertising on this web site (as per below).

Can I promote my business or organization on your forums?
No, absolutely not. Fodors.com is one of the few major sites where travelers can come for unbiased, independent information about travel. Since our travel writers can't be everywhere at once, it's important that travelers be able to use our forums to get fresh-from-the-field updates and advice from other travelers. Please respect the integrity of Fodors.com and our forums, and find another way to advertise your business or organization.

I agree with Rusty.

This is not a public service website. The OP is generating income from commissions from the services on his website. No matter how nice it looks, it is still prohibited. Would you like it if Hyatt hotels starting advertising like this? If the board was full of other "websites" that were just fronts for condos, or timeshare salesmen, or rental cars. Sorry, OP is selling a product and that's it.
Do not patronize his site, do not recommend this to anyone, do not book any accomodations or activites through it. Shameful. jrobb. You know the rules. You did this on Lonely Planet to. Shame on you.
