Maui Hotels
Does anybody have any recommendations on Maui hotels on the west side of maui. I'm looking for a decent place(nothing fancy), preferably a condo style around the $140-$150 range. I'm currently looking at the Aston Kaanapali Condos, but they are $174.00 a night for a studio condo. Seems a little high to me. Don't get me wrong, I know Hawaii is not an inexpensive place to visit. But I just thought someone might have some other suggestions. Thanks

Try www.vrbo.com. They have tons of condos in every price range.

I just booked the Maui Kai cond, a studio (through VRBO) for just under $1000 for s week. I think it includes 5th night free. This property is in the Honokawai area just to the north of Kaanapali, before Kahana, it is next to the Mahana, it is oceanfront. I think this might fall in your range.

I would check VRBO for a studio at Mahana. All are oceanfront and with VRBO you will know what you are getting. It's a very nice property. Renting from on site management can be a crap shoot. Some units are amazing and some are dumps.

Mahana is a good choice, all rooms are oceanfront, but there is no beach there. You will have to walk down several hundred yards to get to a good beach. Almost all the condos/hotels in that area are in the same boat. No good beaches.

Costco had some incredible deals at the Hyatt or Westin..
I can never remember the right aname of the resort right on the beach in Kaanapali for 6 nights for $647 plus breakfast and a $100 credit! (help me out sf..)
The room had a kitchenette if memory serves me.
Great resort for the price and location.
It's not a condo but was around 650 square feet and a great ocean view.
Aloha to you..5 more days to Kauai for me!

Look in the Lahaina area such as Lahaina Islander or Lahaina Shores. They are located right in Lahaina town and are convenient walking distances to shopping and restaurants in Lahaina. When you start going into the Kaanapali resort area, you will end up paying more because of the resort amenities.

Offlady, did you mean Maui Islander instead of Lahaina Islander? If so, the name has been changed to Aina Nalu. They were totally remodeled several years ago along with the name change. Outrigger is still managing the units, but you can find some of them on VRBO listings through the owner

Ka'anapali Beach Hotel usually has some good internet discounts on their website. However, you do not have a kitchenette in your room - only a mini fridge and coffee maker. Therefore, I wouldn't really call it condo-style and I'm not sure it fits your requirements.

Maui Kai
Mahana
Noelani
Polynesian Shores
Stayed in all of the above, all quite acceptable.
All in same area, first two have a/c.
You'd think there would be some great deals at present !

VRBO is no longer the de facto choice for low rates at the Maui Eldorado. At the Outrigger Maui Eldorado, we have new, lower rates on studios starting at $129 per night, plus tax and parking. Call us at toll free at 888-339-8585 for more information about availablity or to make a reservation. And, unlike VRBO, you don't have to pay in advance with Outrigger; we'll take your credit card number as a guarantee at the time of reservation and as credit authorization at check-in (just like a hotel) but you actually pay when you check out.
